Makeup Monday: My Five Favourite Highlighters

Highlighter is one of my favourite products to put on. I just love the glow it gives your face. I use it on my cheekbones, my cupid's bow, my brow bone, a tiny bit on my nose and sometimes in the inner corners of my eyes depending on my eyeshadow.

So, here are my top five highlighting products...

5. Smashbox Baked Fusion Soft Lights in 'Starburst', £25.00:
This is the most pricey highlighter on my list, but it is worth it. I love being able to blend all of the shades together for a stunning highlight, but it's also nice to use the lighter colours in the inner corners and a mix on the cheeks. Buy it here.

Film Review: Alice Through The Looking Glass

Here I am, after my 26th visit to Cineworld Braintree this year! I really do spend too much time there, but I just love films too much to limit my visits. Plus, that's what a Cineworld Unlimited card is for!

Off I went on opening night again to see Mia Wasikowska star in the title role again, along with megastars such as Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and the late, great Alan Rickman.

Makeup Monday: My Five Favourite Blushers

Blushers are one of my favourite things to wear and shop for in the makeup section, so here are my top five blusher pans and palettes...

5. Collection #BlushAndGlow Blush Palette, £4.99:
This is a new find for me but I have been loving it. I don't know it it's a new addition to the Collection range, but if you're on a budget and you're looking for a new blusher to try out, then you should take a look at this one (but not before looking at the other top four blushers below!) Buy it here.

Film Review: X-Men: Apocalypse

I can't believe I've had to wait so long for this film. By 'so long' I mean four days! X-Men: Apocalypse was released on Wednesday 18 May, and I've had to wait until today (Sunday) to see it! That's four days later than the release date for a Marvel movie and I've only just been!

I'll explain... Clay was due home late on Wednesday and had work to do so that day was out the window, Thursday night was also out of the question as Clay was home late again and he had to be up at 4am the next morning, and then Friday Clay was in France and wasn't home until really late. So basically it's Clay's fault that we didn't go.

I'm joking (although it kind of was his fault), I have my final university assignment due on Thursday 26 and I had to get on with it, meaning I had to sacrifice Marvel for my education. It was not a popular decision on my part, but it couldn't be helped.

However, I finished my 3000 word essay on children's literature on Saturday night and decided to treat myself to a trip to see it on Sunday morning!

Makeup Monday: My Five Favourite Eyeshadow Palettes

Let's jump right into it, here are my top five eyeshadow palettes:

5. Makeup Revolution Palette in 'Give Them Nightmares', £6.00:
I love all of the eyeshadows from this brand, and although I'm not very daring with colours - usually sticking to light shimmers or golds and browns - when I swatched these eyeshadows in Superdrug, I fell in love. You can create a really fun, different look with these, but all of the colours work together so well. I've had palettes with colours in them before when you have this one bold shadow that really stands out but you don't know what to do with it as it doesn't work with the other colours, but luckily these are made to go together. Buy it here.

My Monthly Favourites: April 2016

Sorry it's a little later than usual, but here are my monthly favourites for April...

This L'Oreal nude lip palette is incredible. The second and third shades are the two that I use the most as the first is a little light and then the bottom two are a little dark for me, but this is a great all-round lip palette. Buy it here.

Makeup Monday: My Five Favourite Single Eyeshadows

This week (and next) are all about the eyes, as we look at my favourite singluar eyeshadows this Makeup Monday. I never used to wear eyeshadow, but when I started getting more brave and willing to try out some new looks I found that they are now my favourite product to shop for! I usually shop for palettes (more on those next week) but I also have some lovely single shadows that I have to tell you all about!

Here are my top five single eyeshadow products...

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Eyeshadow in 'Macaron Vanille' (£5.49)
This is a beautiful base colour or is lovely just on its own if you just want to even out the tone on your eyelids. Its a great starter colour so if you're not too sure about wearing eyeshadows, this is the place to start. Buy it here.

Film Review: I Saw The Light

Finally! This film was meant to come out last year and they kept pushing it back and back, leaving it out of the Oscar nominations. I was gutted about this because I'd heard so many good things about Hiddleston's performance, and I would love to see him nominated for an Oscar (he'll be nominated for an Emmy for sure though, for The Night Manager).

So, it was finally released this past Friday and I went along on opening night, practically dragging Clay along with me because he is not a country music fan at all. I also took my grandparents they like his music and were interested to see how they portrayed his story.

Makeup Monday: My Five Favourite Eyeliners

I don't very often use eyeliners, apart from occasionally tightlining, but when I do I am very picky with what I use. So here are my top five...
