I'm Loving: Polyvore

Recently I've seen quite a few people using Polyvore to create the most amazing outfits. If you don't know what Polyvore is, it's the best website for creating outfits that you can shop. I finally started up my own Polyvore account and have made a few outfits so far. It's becoming a bit of an obsession. I post all of my outfits to my Instagram. I just love it.

Here are the ten outfits that I've created so far. Most of them are very glam and girly. My favourites are 'Pretty in Pink' (the shoes!), 'Monochrome Feathers' (I love the whole look) and 'Award Show Glam' (if only!)

Makeup Monday: My Five Favourite Foundations

Welcome to the second installment of my 'Makeup Monday' series where this week I'll be sharing my top five foundations.

So, let's get into it...

5. L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Foundation (£9.99)
This is a newer one for me as I decided to try it out after seeing a YouTuber use it and she has perfectly flawless skin already but this foundation suited her perfectly so I wanted to be like that too. There are so many shades of this foundation and it took me ages to decide on a colour, and at the time I had no tan on. I struggled between 'Golden Ivory' and 'Cream Beige' but in the end I went for 'Cream Beige'. It's a lighter coverage but is buildable. Buy it here.

My Recipe Box: Marshmallow Crispy Squares

I decided to try out a recipe today for marshmallow crispy bites, which was posted by Zoella yesterday on YouTube (I've posted it below, and the recipe I took from it starts at 7:50).

Film Review: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I was one of the lucky ones who got to go and see this in its first public showing at the midnight screening. I've done a couple of midnight screenings before and they're so exciting and there are certain films that I love to say I saw before everyone else. Probably not surprising to most of you, but every midnight showing I've been to has been a superhero film.

I wanted to get this review up fairly quickly so that you could get a feel as to whether I would recommend it. So, after getting home at gone three in the morning and only having had five and a half hours sleep, here is my review...

Get in my Wardrobe: Floral Prints

Spring is here and so is my favourite pretty print to wear - floral. I've found ten flowery fashion items that I love to share with you in the hope that it will inspire your new spring wardrobe and have you loving floral as much as I do.

I've listed the names of items and where to buy it below each picture, with a link so that you can go directly to them to shop it.

Makeup Monday: My Five Favourite Primers

I've decided to start a fifteen-week series of beauty blog posts about my top five products in a range of areas, from foundations to highlighters, eyeliners to lipsticks. I'll be posting these under the title 'Makeup Monday', so obviously a new one will go up every Monday for the next fifteen weeks, which will take us through to the end of June.

Here are the areas that I will be covering over the series:

  • Primer
  • Foundation
  • Concealer
  • Powder
  • Bronzer
  • Eyebrow products
  • Eyeliner
  • Single eyeshadows
  • Eyeshadow palettes
  • Blusher
  • Highlighter
  • Mascara
  • Nude lips
  • Pink/coral lips
  • Red/berry lips
So, this week we will be starting with primers.

I know not everyone uses a primer, and I don't use mine everyday either. But if I want to do a full face of makeup and it needs to be on for longer than usual then I will use one. Sometimes you can just get away with putting a good moisturiser on before your foundation. I apply all of the following primers by hand.

Here are my top five...

Film-Review: High-Rise

I know I've never mentioned it on this blog before, but if you know me quite well in person you will know that I have been waiting for this film for so long. I feel like I say that about almost every film I review, but when I see a film trailer that I absolutely love I will watch it over and over again, I get that excited waiting for it. Or, as the case was with this film, I heard about it when they announced they were set to film it, and I followed the process of cast announcements, filming and appearances at film festivals, right up to this moment when it is finally released at the cinema.

Film Review: Allegiant (The Divergent Series)

I reviewed the second film of the series, 'Insurgent', last year and have been so excited for the third. I absolutely loved the books and couldn't wait for the next installment. So I headed to the cinema on opening night this past Thursday to see it.

Film Review: London Has Fallen

I have been waiting for this film for so long! Yes, another one that I have been desperate to see. I was a huge fan of Olympus has Fallen and was so excited when it was first announced that they were making a sequel. It has been three years since the last movie so it's been a long time coming for this one.

My Monthly Favourites: February 2016

It's that time again, here are my monthly favourites for February:

I never used a concealer as part of my makeup routine until autumn last year and now I can't do my makeup without it. I've used a few different ones but I have recently discovered my new favourite - Rimmel's Wake Me Up concealer in 'ivory'. I also have it in the shade 'true ivory', which is a perfect match for my foundation, but I prefer the lighter option of 'ivory' because it brightens my face as well as covering up. I use it in a triangle shape under my eyes, going along my undereye, down the side to the bottom of my nose and diagonally back up. This brightens my whole under eye area and covers my dark circles. I also use it down my nose and around the bottom of the nose where I can be really red, and also on my chin. It's so long-lasting and for the price it's even better. You can buy it here.

My Top Ten: 2016 Oscar Dresses

I love doing these posts because it means I get to flick through all of the gowns from the event and admire them all. Normally there are ten dresses that stand out and I find it really easy to choose them, but I have just spent the last half and hour trying to cut it down from fourteen to ten. So, I must make a special mention of Isla Fisher, Jennifer Garner, Saoirse Ronan and Elizabeth Banks. I loved their outfits and it was so difficult to choose.

But here they are, my top ten dresses from the Oscars and the Vanity Fair afterparty:

10. Lily Donaldson: Sequins seemed to be a huge hit at this years awards, and this slinky, silver number by YSL Couture just had to be in my top ten (Saoirse Ronan's gown was similar to this, but in green). I love the smokey eye look that Lily has here to go with it.
